Note: Some have asked exactly
what qualifies a chicken to become "Chicken of the Week."
No, it is not the chicken that will become that week's main course.
(We don't eat our chickens; they are a laying flock.) We considered
selecting the Chicken of the Week based on which of them had completed
that week's Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle the fastest,
but several had trouble holding the pencil, so we felt that type
of criteria would be unfair. For now it is completely subjective
process, but suggestions are welcome! |
Our "Chicken of the Week" for 12/15/2003
is "Fluffy," our second rooster. As a baby, Fluffy was
an adorable chick with soft white down. "She's so cute"
everyone said, until one day we heard an unmistakeable cock crow
coming from Fluffy's direction. It was at that moment that we decided
to give Fluffy a second name - "Rocko" - to avoid future
psychological counseling bills. |
